Jake Flink Signing Board Shoot

Jake is really into football- he’s been playing for years!! For his signing board, we went to Cenntenial High School so I could create some images that would reflect Jake’s commitment to football. Here are the one’s Lori- Jake’s mom- chose for her son.

Julia’s Bat Mitzvah at Temple Sinai

I had met Betsy Cohen and her sister, Abby Gunthert over the summer, and they both chose me to capture the moments of Mitzvah for Abby’s twins and Betsy’s daughter Julia.

Julia’s Mitzvah was first, and I had a great time capturing her personality for her signing board. We did two shoots at different locations and the photos were great!

Once the weekend arrived, I photographed Julia at Sinai during her rehearsal, and again on Friday night at her Shabbat dinner at Maggiano’s Buckhead.

On Saturday morning, we met before services for more photos with Betsy’s extended family. Julia did a great job on the bimah, and then it was time to party at Temple Sinai! Janice Blackmon of Janice Blackmon Events coordinated Julia’s party and it was fantastic! Balloons over Atlanta  filled the ballroom with  helium goodies. Gigi’s Cupcakes were wolfed down by everyone after a great evening of celebrating and dancing to the rythyms of Vibe Entertainment.

Mazel Tov, Julia!

Connor’s Bar Mitzvah- go team go!

Game on! What a fantastic weekend for the Flagels and Connor! From Friday night to his triumph at the Binah and then on to a fun filled sports themed Saturday at The Old Towne Club, Connor’s Bar Mitzvah scored. Luna Cygielman of Total Lunacy provided the decor and the chef’s at Old Town outdid themselves. Mazel Tov to all!

I’ve been busy…

photographing lots and lots of simchas so far this year! So busy that I haven’t really had a chance to blog. So here are a few of my favorites from this year, and please check back in a few weeks for tons of great photos!

Those casual photo sessions….

When I started Mitzvahmanphoto, I was determined to offer something that I felt was missing in the Atlanta photography market. I had seen zillions of signing posters and signing books, but I wasn’t seeing zillions of portraits. What I saw were just photos, taken whenever and wherever it was convenient for the photographer, and nothing that was a real portrait. A portrait isn’t just a “casual photo session”. A portrait reflects your child’s personality, interests and soul.

I spend a lot of time with each of my subjects, going over ideas and trying to come up with a theme that reflects who each of them are at this milestone event.

Figure out what you’d rather end up with- pictures from a “casual photo session”, or creative portraits that speak a thousand words about your child. Then call me- and I’ll show you what I mean. In the meantime, check out this sport fan’s portrait session.

Carly!

What a great weekend! Carly’s Bat Mitzvah at Temple Sinai was a smash, with Carly rockin’ the crown from Friday night to Sunday! Shannon, Carly’s mom planned a great party at Maggiano’s Buckhead, and all the guests gathered from far and wide to groove to the vibe from Vibe and toast Carly’s milestone. With sis Remy and dad Ken, the whole family felt the love from lots of their nearest and dearest!

Check out the photos from Carly’s portrait session and from the party below:

Ariel’s Summer in Winter Bat Mitzvah!

I really enjoyed working with Ariel and her family on her special day. I met Ellen, Ariel’s mother, while waiting for pizza after Sunday School at The Temple and soon after that we brainstorming ideas for Ariel’s signing board! (Check out the underwater shots!)

Ellen planned a very family oriented series of events over the Bat Mitzvah weekend to celebrate and guests enjoyed a Shabbat Dinner at The Temple, a Kiddush luncheon, a Saturday night party at Gordon Biersch and a swim party at Georgia Tech– in November yet!

Here are just a few photos from that weekend:

Why I’m worth it…and why you are, too!

$400.00. $900.00.  It’s possible to hire a “photographer” these days for that amount of money. But what are you really getting?  Years of experience that will ensure cherished moments are forever  captured or someone who just decided to earn a little extra income by putting out their virtual shingle on the web?

Spending more means you get more- a professional photographer who has the artistry, experience and skill to create images that you will treasure, no matter what the situation.

A photographer who can transform what you see every Shabbat into a visual feast.

It’s worth it.

Israel- Personal work

An Israeli Bar Mitzvah!

This past December, I was able to visit Israel for the very first time! The occasion? The Bar Mitzvah of my nephew, William Wallock. It was an incredible experience to photograph William as he led services at the foot of the Western Wall. I can’t begin to tell you how special this was- I hope the photos speak for me.
